Nothing is so cheap as pure air, yet so sparingly is it provided in the great majority of our public buildings and in our dwellings that, in spite of the general warfare against the white plague, this disease continues its widespread devastation. The greatest sins of carelessness and indifference are committed against children in our public schools. We compel children to attend our schools for so many hours every school day
